Delivery

A fresh and bright-fruited Barbera made by a top Barolo producer. Sandrone are a modern family cantina who work organically and whose early Barolos received some of the region's first perfect 100/100 scores. This staff favourite is a lush, dark Barbera with nice freshness and classy, integrated oak. A serious red for medium to rich red meat dishes.

Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"A forward nose of creamy black and red raspberries jumps from the glass, with notes of cherries, minerals and black plums for complexity. The supporting graphite and wood notes flesh out and frame the perfumes. Very intense deep purple colour typical of Barbera. The palate is very smooth and demonstrates a high degree of polish, with deep black fruits and good freshness, though it seems a bit less heavy and concentrated than previous vintages. The structure is medium-bodied with hints of tannins from the barrel ageing. The finish shows intensity with good persistence and freshness that keeps the wine light on its feet; the overall effect is of a Barbera of elegance and completeness."

"Bottled in the middle of December 2024 and pouring a jeweled magenta/purple hue, the 2023 Barbera D'Alba offers a gorgeous lavender perfume, showing off a youthful note of sweet oak spice that frames the wine with a pretty touch of vanilla and fresh berries. Medium to full-bodied, it offers a polished and silky texture, with lovely ripe purity and a long finish. This beautiful wine will cast a large net for enjoyment over the coming 7-10 years."
