"Very bright with a delicate pink and apricot hue leads to a bouquet of fresh red berry fruits and strawberry, a distinctive cherry and mineral quality, a quietly spoken savoury quality and gently dried herb note. Crisp, just dry, a core of ripe fruit flavours reflecting the bouquet, there’s a plushness and juicy mouthfeel accentuated by fine fruit tannins and lees. Delicious, fresh and ready to drink from day of purchase through end of summer 2026."

"A rosé made from Central Otago Pinot Noir. A bright copper-pink in the glass. The scent is key here, with a complex blending of candy store spicy sweetness and savoury matcha and incense. Blueberry, rosehip and red cherry, then grapefruit, blood orange and lemon zest, before jasmine and caramel top notes come through. Off dry to taste – the sweetness of ripe juice offset by a raspy tannin and a little wet stone minerality through the palate. A swathe of satin texture coats the back of the palate before the finish comes in much drier and with a baking spice element that completes the circle from the perfume."

Nestled on the 45th parallel, Rockburn derives its name from the rugged, rock-strewn, burn-scarred landscape of Central Otago. This region, celebrated for its stunning scenery of rugged mountains and picturesque lakes, is the world’s most southerly grape-growing area. The climate here is akin to that of Burgundy, France, the renowned Pinot Noir region. Rockburn produces premium wines with intense varietal characteristics, particularly noted in their white varieties for their crisp acidity. The distinct appellations within Central Otago, like Gibbston Valley and Lowburn/Bannockburn, allow Rockburn to exploit the full potential of the region.

Rockburn's journey began in 1991 with a 3ha vineyard at Lake Hayes near Arrowtown. By 1992, a 9ha vineyard in Gibbston Valley was added. In 1999, the acquisition of a 33ha vineyard at Parkburn marked a significant expansion. Rebranded as Rockburn Central Otago in 2002, the winery continued to grow. In 2005, Malcolm Rees-Francis became the winemaker, and in 2006, the winery-cellar door complex opened in Cromwell. By 2015, a new winery complex was purchased to meet rising demand.

Rockburn is dedicated to producing superior reserve wines that reflect Central Otago’s superb regional character. Their Stolen Kiss wines, made from the best Pinot Noir grapes, evoke summertime romance. The Devil's Staircase wines, inspired by the challenging Central Otago environment, offer a unique twist. Additionally, Rockburn offers premium single vineyard, single block, or single clone wines, and magnum formats of their favourite wines.
