PIRATHON SILVER LABEL SHIRAZ 2020

Pirathon produce a range of full bodied Barossa Shiraz and that's all they do, and they do it very well. They are Shiraz specialists.

Pirathon Silver Label (previously known as Pirathon Shiraz) has won many awards throughout the years and the 2020 vintage maintains that level of premium consistency, if fact we think its the best release yet and agree with Sam Kim's assessment that this is "Flavoursome and delectably tasty". Grapes were carefully selected and aged in new and seasoned oak barrels before carefully blended. The resulting wine is plump, rich and full-bodied. It is so generously flavoured with complex ripe dark fruits.

"Aromas are at once complex, savoury oak flavours of cloves, toast and warm spices intertwined with black fruits and a sarsaparilla like lift. ​A rich and inviting palate, upfront dark fruits in the blood plum and blackberry mould meld around assertive ripe tannins. With air, savoury characters come to the fore with black olive tapenade, nutmeg and cured Barossa meats. Oak maturation is noticeable giving clear structural and textual elements with a long and expressive flavour profile that will continue to evolve with careful cellaring."

"Richly fruited and instantly appealing, the enticing bouquet shows black/blueberry, rich floral, vanillin oak and warm spice aromas. The palate displays excellent weight and succulent fruit intensity, wonderfully complemented by plump mouthfeel and layers of silky tannins. Flavoursome and delectably tasty.
