From one of the Langhe’s most historic estates, the 2022 Pio Cesare Langhe Nebbiolo is a superb, approachable expression of the noble grape. The nose is bright and expressive, with notes of ripe red cherry, wild raspberry, and dried rose petal, layered with savoury hints of anise and licorice. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and graceful, with supple, fine-grained tannins and a vibrant acidity that frames the juicy red fruit. The finish is clean, persistent, and savoury. A polished and elegant introduction to the power of Nebbiolo.
Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"From a selection of our Family-owned vineyards, in La Morra and in Serralunga in the Barolo region, in San Rocco Seno D’Elvio in the Barbaresco region and in Diano d’Alba.
The sources of the grapes, enriched by a small proportion of Nebbiolo from the Barbaresco and Barolo regions, provide body, structure and a long ageing potential. The fruit is intense and ripe, but at the same time fresh with very sweet tannins. Nice aroma and longevity. In large oak “botti” for 24 months; for a small amount in French oak barriques."
90/100 Jeb Dunnuck, May 2025 (2022 Vintage)
"A bright transparent red colour, the 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo is spicy and open on the nose with notes of dried cranberries, brambly herbs, dusty earth, and orange peel. Medium-bodied, it has real structure and is intended as a wine to reflect the style of the house rather than a more simplistic expression. It’s zesty with chalky tannins, even acidity, and notes of dusty earth through the finish. Drink 2025-2032."
