Picpoul is one of the oldest indigenous grapes of the Languedoc region; its use recorded in the 17th century. Today it is most famous for the wines produced around the village of Pinet, which is close to the coast, just west of Sète. Unoaked the wine shows a good level of freshness for a wine from such a warm climate, with a citrussy and stone fruit character highlighted with floral notes.
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"The Picpoul de Pinet typically presents a bright and zesty profile. On the nose, you’ll find aromas of citrus—lemon and lime—combined with green apple, white flowers, and a hint of sea spray or salinity, evoking its coastal origins. On the palate, it’s crisp, light-bodied, and refreshing, with vibrant acidity that gives it a lively, mouthwatering feel. Flavors of lemon zest, grapefruit, and green pear are prominent, often complemented by a subtle minerality and a slightly salty finish, which makes it a fantastic pairing for seafood."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, February 2026 (2024 Vintage)
"Fresh and bright, the elegantly lifted bouquet shows green rockmelon, lemongrass, crisp apple, and floral nuances. The palate displays fine flow and excellent vibrancy, leading to a lengthy, mouthwatering finish. At its best: now to 2028."
91/100 Cameron Douglas MS, February 2026 (2024 Vintage)
"Classic, crisp and dry with a backbone of acidity a leesy seam with flavours of pomaceous fruits including apple and pear. After a time in glass there’s a steely mineral and white apricot quality adding breadth and depth. Persistent and salivating and tasting again on day three this wine remains delicious. Best drinking alongside fresh salty seafood, or something light and crunchy, best drinking from day of purchase through 2030."
