Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"This range of wines, named after fashionable fabrics, feature the iconic paisley design for which the company is named. The pattern became synonymous with the Scottish town of Paisley situated close to Glasgow and was the birthplace of Kirsten's great-great grandfather, who emigrated to Adelaide in 1839.
The colour is mid red. The perfumed nose exhibits lifted raspberry, wild strawberry fruit, potpourri, with thyme and sweet spice notes. The medium bodied palate has plump and juicy sweet fruit predominately strawberry jam, pomegranate, mint, hints of liquorice and an earthy note. The old vines ensure weight and depth on the palate and the fleshy and supple tannins add to the mouthfeel of the wine with a mineral edge. The wine is balanced through the palate and the juicy berry flavours linger nicely. This wine drinks beautifully now but will cellar for up to seven years."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, November 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"This is splendidly expressed and inviting on the nose, showing sweet plum, mixed spice, floral and hazelnut aromas. The palate delivers beautifully rounded mouthfeel, wonderfully supported by fleshy texture and fine, polished tannins. Flavoursome and delectable with a lingering soothing finish. At its best: now to 2035."
92/100 Patrick Eckel, WineReviewer.com.au, December 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"A vibrant light red in the glass, with pretty red cherry and toffee apple on the nose. The wine is light to medium bodied and focuses on it's youthful freshness with a creamy edge to cherry and strawberry fruit. There is the faintest savoury texture that gives depth to the mid palate. The finish is clean, pure and has a singular focus on the fruit aspects of the varietal."
91/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, November 2023 (2023 Vintage)
"Ripe red fruits, liquorice, spice, dried herb and mint. It’s juicy, sweetly red fruited, with a little ferrous grip, fresh, sprigs of thyme and rosemary, with a tangy/sappy finish of good length. There’s a little warmth too, though all up it’s a vibrant and appealing expression of Barossa Grenache."
