We all know the excellent quality of Pinot Noirs coming from the Greystone winery and this, their regional blend, is no exception. At this special offer price it is certainly our recommendation for value buying and enjoyment.

Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"A complex nose of red fruits, baking spice and subtle floral notes. The nose is matched with a bright and alluring palate of summer berries, red liquorice and raspberry compote. Medium-bodied, with structured tannins and a lingering finish."

5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, April 2023 (2020 Vintage)
"Fragrant and inviting, the bouquet shows dark berry, thyme, spicy oak and floral aromas, leading to a silky-smooth palate offering bright fruit flavours with savoury nuances. Elegantly structured by fine polished tannins, finishing splendidly long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2028."

4 Stars Michael Cooper (2020 Vintage)
"From vineyards 'scattered across the region', the very harmonious 2020 vintage was French oak-matured for nine months. Ruby-hued, it is a fresh, mouthfilling, supple red, with moderately concentrated, ripe cherry and spice flavours, and nutty, savoury notes adding complexity. Still youthful, it should be at its best mid-2024+."

91/100 JamesSuckling.com, December 2021 (2020 Vintage)
"Smoky, earthy nose of dried cherries, wet earth, bark, dried leaves, mushrooms and smoked meat. Medium-bodied with tight tannins. Savoury, firm finish."

Greystone Wines is a family-owned vineyard located in the Waipara wine region in Canterbury, New Zealand. Since its establishment, the vineyard has quickly gained a reputation for producing some of the finest wines in the region, particularly their award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The vineyard is situated on the slopes of the Teviotdale Hills, which provide an ideal microclimate for growing grapes. The soils are rich in limestone, which gives the wines a unique mineral character. Greystone Wines is committed to sustainable viticulture practices, and they use a range of organic and biodynamic methods to manage their vineyards. They also have a strong focus on low-intervention winemaking, which allows the grapes to express their natural terroir.

The winery produces a range of wines, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Pinot Gris. As mentioned, all of the wines are made using traditional methods, with a focus on minimal intervention and maximum expression of the vineyard's unique terroir.

One of the standout wines from Greystone Wines is their Pinot Noir. Past recognition includes being judged Best International Pinot Noir by Decanter Magazine, with its complex nose of dark fruit, spice, and earthy undertones and a palate that is rich and full-bodied. The Chardonnay is another standout, with a beautiful balance of fruit and acidity, and a long, elegant finish.

Visitors to the vineyard can enjoy tastings and tours, and there is also a restaurant on site that serves locally sourced, seasonal food. The vineyard's stunning location, coupled with their commitment to sustainability and low-intervention winemaking, makes Greystone Wines a must-visit destination for wine lovers visiting the Waipara region.
