Why Mystery labels? We use these when a producer may wish to clear excess stock or end of vintage lines, but they don't want to compromise the brand integrity, especially on-line where names and prices are visible to all. We can’t tell you the producer or normal RRP here – you’ll find this out when you open the box or come into store.
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Sophisticated indulgence where power meets grace. The palate is harmoniously layered with rich cherry, blackberry & underlying savoury flavours. Intriguing spice, silky tannins & vibrant acidity lead to a superbly sustained finish. Tailor made, it’s the perfect ensemble for any occasion."
5 Stars & 96/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, June 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"This is stunningly beautiful, showing dark cherry, bouquet garni, game and toasted nut aromas on the nose. The palate offers outstanding concentration and plush mouthfeel, superbly enhanced by layers of sensual texture and seductive flavours. Tannins are ultra-fine and in abundance, making it flowing and expansive. At its best: now to 2035.
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, June 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"There’s no mistaking the variety with this wine, a savoury youthful bouquet with aromas of spiced dark cherries and plums, a layer of gravelly soil and wild red flowers. On the palate a dry wine with an equal savoury intensity and fruit core, then textures from youthful firm tannins and acid line, the fruit easily takes on board the taut youthfulness of the structure. A wine that needs time to settle and develop into its best sense of place and complexity. Best drinking from 2027 through 2035+."
5 Stars & 18.5+/20 (94) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, July 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"Moderately deep ruby-red with a black core, lighter on the rim. This has an alluring bouquet with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, sweet floral, vanilla and herbs. Medium-full bodied, aromas of black cherry and blackberry are ripe and pure, unfolding sweet floral, thyme, vanilla and cinnamon. The succulent fruit is accompanied by lively acidity, a lightly creamy mouthfeel, and silky tannins flow to a broody, rich closing. This enticing Pinot Noir shows ripe fruit and vibrant acidity on a fine structure and lengthy finish. Match with roasted lamb or hare over the next 6+ years. Fermented to 13.5% alc."
