This is such as good Pinot! The quality of fruit from Dominic Mondillo's prized Bendigo vineyard has given a Pinot Noir that is bursting with dark cherry and savoury flavours. Full and velvety in the mouth this is absolutely delicious. Outstanding for $40!
Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Deep ruby in colour with aromas of cherry and plum, creamy flavours of dark cherry with a savoury spicy complexity and a smooth velvety richness. Enjoy – Salute!
The 2019 Bendigo growing season started off with a cool spring, with above average rainfall, followed by a warm summer which produced low yields of concentrated fruit. The fruit was hand harvested mid-March, 100% de-stemmed followed by a long cold maceration, fermented slowly and gently pressed. It has been aged in French oak barriques, of which 25% were new for 10 months."
5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review (2019 Vintage)
"Consistently top Bendigo pinot noir with intense, ripe plum, dark cheery, cassis flavours plus a seasoning of spice. A vibrant, high-energy wine that can be enjoyed now but will develop well with a little age. Drink 2021 – 2027."
Rated Outstanding & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, October 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Fabulous colour and bouquet, varietal, youthful, packed with pinosity showcasing aromas of black cherry and black currant, sweet fresh farmers market raspberries, dark roses, new barrel smoke and spices. On the palate – complex, very youthful and delicious with primary fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet, firm tannins and abundant acidity. A wine that simply needs time in your cellar to relax, integrate and develop. Best drinking from late 2023 through 2030+."
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"Likely to be long-lived, the concentrated, very youthful 2019 vintage was estate-grown and hand-harvested at Bendigo, and matured in French oak barrels ((30 per cent new). Deep, bright ruby, it is a powerful wine, with bold cherry and plum flavours, finely integrated oak adding complexity, and ripe, supple tannins. Best drinking 2023+."

"Wonderfully ripe and fragrant, showing sweet plum, dark cherry, vanilla, mushroom and toasted nut aromas on the nose, leading to a beautifully rounded palate offering ripe fruit intensity backed by spicy nuances. It's silky and lingering with loads of delectable flavours. At its best: now to 2028."
