Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"A ruby-red Pinot Noir with classic varietal aromatics of violets, plum and cherry with hints of dark chocolate and spice, lead to a palate of ripe plums balanced with fine tannins giving great depth and length."
5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, December 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"Pungently aromatic pinot noir with floral, rose petal and violet aromas occupying centre-stage with a mix of spice, cherry, berry and nutty oak playing a supporting role. A silken-textured wine with a lingering finish. Impressive and accessible with potential."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, December 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"Wonderfully composed and expressed, the splendidly fragrant bouquet shows dark cherry, raspberry, toasted almond, dark spice and floral aromas, followed by a concentrated palate that’s refined and graceful. It’s elegant yet mouthfilling and generous within a beautifully proportioned frame, finishing impressively long and expansive. At its best: now to 2028."
5 Stars Michael Cooper (2018 Vintage)
"Estate-grown at Bendigo, in the Cromwell Basin, the impressive 2018 vintage was hand-picked from 15-year-old vines, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for a year in French oak hogsheads (37 per cent new). Deep ruby, it is fragrant, very savoury and smooth, with mouthfilling body and concentrated, ripe cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, showing excellent complexity and harmony. Already approachable, it should break into full stride from 2022 onwards."
Rated Outstanding & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, January 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"An enticing bouquet with aromas of ripe red berry fruits and dried herb layered between scents of oak and toasty wood spices, a dark rose and earthy quality. On the palate – equally enticing with a core of pinosity centering on red berry and plum, dark florals and savoury undertones. Layers of oak and baking spices adding depth and complexity. Firm youthful tannins with a chalk-like texture, plenty of acidity and overall solid structure. Lengthy, detailed and dry finish. Decant for service – slightly cooler than you might ordinarily prepare a Pinot Noir – and enjoy from today and through 2026."
