Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"From the Italian word ‘cantere’ – to sing, a Cantata is a vocal composition with an instrumental accompaniment. With more complexity than a simple song, the Cantata is composed for the more discerning.
Inviting aromas of cherry pie and plum are overlaid by floral notes of wild strawberry and rose petal, this Pinot Noir has a dense raspberry core and a fine texture."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, October 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Wonderfully fruited and enticing, the bouquet shows sweet cherry, rich floral, clove and toasted almond notes, leading to a beautifully weighed palate that's succulent and fleshy. Harmonious and charming with layers of fine texture and polished tannins, finishing persistent and satisfying. At its best: now to 2030."

"Designed principally for 'on-premise' sale in restaurants, this label, aimed at an early-maturing style, offers good value. Estate-grown at Bendigo, the 2021 vintage was matured for a year in French oak hogsheads (14 per cent new). Full, bright ruby, it is fragrant, mouthfilling and supple, with generous, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing very good complexity, and a well-rounded, lingering finish."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, November 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Bright, youthful, expressive and fresh varietal bouquet. Aromas and flavours of bright red cherry flesh and black currant, some tart raspberry and spices from fruit and wood. Taut, youthful and dry with flavours of fresh and tart red berries, there’s a gentle savoury quality reflecting region, soil and classic Olly Masters winemaking style. Taut and dry with a firmness and texture, polish and mouthfeel. Acidity layers in a freshness and carrying flavours and textures throughout the palate. A lovely for drinking from mid to late 2024 through 2028+."
5 Stars & 18.5/20 (93) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, November 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Moderately deep ruby-red, even colour throughout. This has a generous, uplifting bouquet, penetrating aromas of black cherry, plum interweaving spice and herbs. Medium-light bodied, aromas of black cherry and plum melded with strawberry, black pepper, nutmeg and thyme. The fruit is forward and generous, supported by lively acidity and supple tannin. The spice and depth of the fruit carry a lovely, moderately long finish. This is an amiable Pinot Noir with forward succulent fruit and a well-balanced fine palate. Match with lamb burger and pork ribs over the next 3-5 years. Fermented in open-top fermenters with 4% whole bunch, aged in 300 litre French oak barrels for 9 months approx. 14% alc."
