Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"100% Semillon. Raupo Vineyard, Marlborough. BioGro certified organic fruit. Demeter certified fruit.
Hand harvested. Semillon was whole bunch pressed to tank to settle overnight & then racked to neutral oak cigar barrels the following day. A pied du cuve (vineyard ferment starter) was added to ferment once transferred to barrel & underwent wild fermentation, followed by full malo-lactic fermentation. Barrels were given 2-3 lees stirs post-ferment to add texture & retain freshness. After 9.5 months in barrel, the wine was racked to tank to be assembled & settled for 3 weeks. Bottled unfined & unfiltered with no SO2 or additions of any kind."

"From the Raupo Vineyard in Marlborough, using 100% BioGro-certified organic Semillon. A pied du cuve was used to kickstart the wild fermentation in barrels. Bottled unfined & unfiltered with no SO2 or additions of any kind. A very pale, clear lemon-green colour. Wonderfully aromatic, with a blast of lemon, grapefruit, red apple and melon fruit, with pithy citrus skin, dried pineapple and green herbs rising from the glass. Firm, dry and tightly structured into the palate, but showing plenty of character and energy. A little tannin adds a layer of curiosity, and the acidity is quite frisky – as you might expect. As I tasted this, it evolved in just those few minutes, and it is a wine I could see developing even more personality over the course of 24 hours. The finish has good persistence and harmony."
