What a great buy! The name Chapoutier is synonymous with the Rhone Valley and quality wine. This is a deliciously slurpable red that is really, really tasty. Flavours of plum and spice with a hint of the Mediterranean garrigue herb and a nice mineral edge ensures it finishes with a flourish.
Winery Notes (2022 Vintage)
"A blend of Grenache and Syrah. The vineyards of this Côtes-du-Rhône come from different soils (from 4 neighbouring regions: Drôme, Vaucluse, Gard and Ardèche) such as clay-calcareous alluvial deposit terraces and clay providing this wine an incredible richness and complexity.
The grapes are hand-harvested at maturity. The whole grapes are destemmed. A two-week vat time provides a great tannic structure compulsory to its ageing and a good stability. The wine is aged in vats and the blending is performed by the end of spring.
A garnet red colour. Red fruit aromas (mainly morello cherry and strawberry). This wine is well-structured with firm tannins. Aromas are complex of spices and fruits."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (2020 Vintage)
"This is delectably appealing with black/blueberry, toasted spice, cocoa and assorted nut aromas on the nose. It's beautifully weighted and flavoursome in the mouth displaying terrific fruit richness and plush mouthfeel, finishing long and succulent. At its best: now to 2027."
