Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Pinot Noir is the rising star of Marlborough and the variety that most expresses the differences from season to season. Grown on the southern hills in clay soils, this Pinot is well rounded with oh-so juicy flavours of cherry and black Doris plum. The wild fermentation along with extended lees maturation have added complexity and texture to the dark fruits and the finish is dry with a nice touch of dark chocolate and spice."

Rated Outstanding, Top Wine of 2023 & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, July 2023 (2021 Vintage)
An excellent bouquet filled with scents of ripe dark cherry and black currant, the fruits are laced with a savoury natural spice and dried herb quality from soil and barrel work. Complex and youthful bouquet overall. Delicious on the palate with a core of dark berries and currants, dried herb and wood smoke with a clove quality. Taut and youthful, salivating with a fresh nut and flinty quality. An abundance of fine through chalky tannins and medium+ acid line. Very lengthy finish, a wine of quality, panache and style. Best drinking from 2024 through 2032+."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, June 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"A splendid rendition of the variety, showing sweet cherry, hazelnut, olive, clove and rich floral aromas, followed by a silky-smooth palate offering excellent fruit purity with stylish complexity, finishing wonderfully long and velvety. At its best: now to 2030."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper, June 2023 (2021 Vintage)
The generous 2021 vintage was grown in the Southern Valleys. Made in a 'fruit forward' style (meaning with a restrained oak influence), it is deeply coloured and full-bodied, with strong cherry, plum and spice flavours, savoury notes adding complexity, and ripe, supple tannins. Showing good cellaring potential, it should be at its best 2025+.
