Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"This wine explodes on the nose with a fruit salad of peach, nectarine, melon and mandarin combining with honey, nougat and floral notes for an intense and inviting array of aromas. The palate is elegant, dry and concentrated with ripe, tropical, citrus and stone fruit flavours and delicious textural creaminess from the wild fermentation. It is a charming mouthful, concluding in a long, smooth finish."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, April 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"Beautifully poised and elegantly expressed, the wine shows white flesh stone fruit, Nashi pear, jasmine and subtle spice aromas on the nose. The palate delivers succulent fruit flavours with fine flow backed by refreshing acidity, finishing persistent and linear. At its best: now to 2027."

Top Value & 94/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, October 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"Delicately fruity aroma with ripe pear, quince and honeysuckle flavours supported by refreshing acidity. Smooth-textured wine in an off-dry style with bright fruit flavours. This is what pinot gris should taste like, but seldom does."
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, December 2022 (2022 Vintage)
"Young, bright, fresh and classic with aromas of fresh green pear and honeysuckle, there’s apple and quince with a white spice layer and mineral quality. A satin touch on the palate then core fruits flavours that reflect the bouquet, a bright acid line and lees quality adding a moment of lager before the flavours of citrus, pear and apple begin again. Lovely and dry, balanced, well made and ready to drink from 2023 through 2026+."
Yvonne Lorkin, January 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"If you were wishing for a sweetly-styled, bog-standard, boring old pinot gris then, that’s very odd because who wants that? I’m forever on the hunt for something showing bright nashi and zesty citrus layers, hints of nutmeg and apple strudel spices and showing a solid, dry finish. That’s what this new release from Jules Taylor delivers."
4 Stars Cuisine Pinot Gris Tasting 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"At first the aromatics seem shy and understated but stone fruit, honey and spice unfold beautifully on the nose. A dry style of gris with good richness, fantastic structure, lovely balance and fantastic length."

4 Stars Michael Cooper (2021 Vintage)
"Grown at Taylor Pass and in the lower Wairau Valley, the 2021 vintage was handled in a mix of tanks (mostly) and barrels. Full-bodied, it is vibrantly fruity, with strong, youthful peach, pear, lychee and spice flavours, showing very good freshness and vigour, and a dry (2.4 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish. Best drinking mid-2022+."
