Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Bright red cherry , raspberry notes with smokey oak char and spice on the palate. Layers of complexity and minerality with fine grained tannins and a lovely long finish."
Rated Outstanding & 96/100 Cameron Douglas MS (2019 Vintage)
"Mineral, fruity, smoky, distinctive and varietal bouquet. Flavours of dark plum a baking spices, silty mineral and a chalky texture, dark cherry and wild red flowers, raspberry and French oak spices. A delicious wine with lots of texture and refinement, a core of youthful energy and fruit, excellent acid line and a lengthy complex finish. Drinkable now, but best from late 2022 through 2030+."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, April 2022 (2019 Vintage)
"Stylish and elegant, the wine shows sweet cherry, red plum, dried herb, warm spice and nutmeg aromas. It's equally seductive on the palate displaying beautifully layered mouthfeel together with refined texture and fine polished tannins, finishing persistent and pleasingly dry. Certified organic. At its best: now to 2027."
93/100 David Walker Bell, WineFolio.co.nz, June 2024 (2019 Vintage)
"An organic Pinot Noir from this boutique producer in Alexandra, Central Otago. A deep garnet colour in the glass, with a perfume that could only be Pinot. Layers of red cherry, blackberry, thyme, plum and smoky cedar on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, and brimming with youthful energy and an acidity that accentuates the ripe fruit. Fine grained tannin and that toasty oak note add weight and structure, whilst a seam of chalky minerality works its way into view as you go. A rich spice layer of cinnamon and cloves towards the finish, which has good length and harmony."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper, October 2023 (2019 Vintage)
"Estate-grown on the outskirts of Alexandra, the attractive 2019 vintage is drinking well now, but worth cellaring too. Full, bright ruby, it is fragrant and mouthfilling, savoury and supple, with very good concentration of vibrant cherry, plum and spice flavours, and a smooth finish."
