A superb Chablis from boutique leaders in the region, Jean Paul and Benoit Droin. The history of the family Droin (pronounced like "du-wah") goes back a long way. Benoit is the 14th generation, though with a magic touch that has made him a leader in the region. Grown on the proper sea-shell soils which make the style famous, this village white conveys beautiful citrus and florals infused with a harmonious minerality.

"The 2023 Chablis Village offers pretty orchard fruit on the nose with a touch of chalk dust. The palate is well balanced with more tension than the Petit Chablis. A touch of sour lemon and green apple on the finish. Fine."

"Usually a benchmark for the appellation, Droin's Chablis has a lot more density and concentration than the Petit Chablis. More structure and minerality here. Will be very good and a classic example."
89-91/100 Alan Meadows, Burghound.com (2022 Vintage)
“Smoky aromas of shellfish and Granny Smith apples gives way to more voluminous flavours that enjoy better acid support on the balanced and sneaky long finish. This isn’t exactly classic in style but it’s close and is a wine that offers fine quality for its level. Drink 2026+”
