Grant Burge is the 5th Generation of his family to be involved in winemaking in the Barossa Valley. Named in honour of that fact, the 5th Generation Shiraz is a bold and bright, typically Barossan style showing plenty in the oomph and drinkability factors.
Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Deep dark purple in colour, this wine instantly impresses with aromas of raspberry and blackberry, complemented by spice, subtle vanilla and coffee bean. Full bodied wine where the red fruits in the mid palate are balanced with integrated fine long tannins and hints of sweetness and spice from the oak. The soft integrated tannin structure gives the wine a real elegance and mid palate structure. The multi-layered depth of flavours and long lingering finish make this an impressive wine."

90/100 Cameron Douglas MS, November 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Aromas of dark berries and baking spices, toasty smoky wood scents and a baked earth quality. On the palate – flavours of black currant and dark plums, sweet oak, dried raspberry and spices from the kitchen cupboard. A core of fruit with fine easy tannins and medium+ acidity. Well made in a ready to drink expression from day of purchase and through 2024."
Gavin Hubble, The Wine Guy 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"Packed with lush, dark berry flavours, with classic Barossa spice, subtle oak and smooth tannins."
5 Stars, Top 10 & Best Buy Cuisine Australian Shiraz Tasting, August 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Incredible value from a prestigious and renowned producer. This shiraz has a deep purple hue in the glass and delivers an intense and rich drinking experience. Lovely ripe, dark plum and rich red fruit are layered through the palate with the subtle black pepper that is so unmistakably shiraz. A powerful yet relaxed example of all that is great about the Barossa."
NWWA 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Since first introduced into Australia 190 years ago, Shiraz has been an absolute winner for the country and its wine industry. The same grape as our Syrah, it's grown in a much hotter climate and the results are amazing. This year's Champion Shiraz / Syrah is testament to that difference. Fabulous colour and superb ripe fruit with a hint of liquorice and struck flint. Juicy rich palate and a long finish, it treads lightly for a big wine."
