Winery notes (2014 Vintage)
"We source the Sauvignon Blanc fruit for this wine from our Alma St Vineyard. The vineyard is netted to protect it, which allows the grapes to hang on the vine for longer. Eventually the fruit shrivels which gives concentrated sugars, this is when the fruit is ready for hand picking, normally late May.
The name late harvest derives from wine that is made from grapes left on the vine for longer than usual. The grapes left to hang on the vine for longer often end up looking more similar in appearance to raisins, the grapes have been naturally dehydrated which in turn gives concentrated sugars and flavours.
Our Brothers Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc has concentrated citrus and stone fruit aromas with a luscious concentrated palate that exudes delectable tropical fruit flavours and vibrant acidity. A must try wine. 252 g/L rs."
5 Stars & 95/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review (2014 Vintage)
"Very sweet, concentrated Sauvignon Blanc, with classic varietal passion fruit and tropical fruit flavours plus apricot, pineapple and orange blossom. The wine has an appealing and ethereal lightness and impeccable balance which prevents any suggestion of cloying. Delicious now but could develop even more interesting flavours in time."
94/100 James Suckling, October 2018 (2014 Vintage)
"Incredibly concentrated ripe, sweet fruit. This delivers aromas of dried apricots and orange marmalade. Bergamot and lychees on the palate. Superb purity and ultra-rich texture."
