Giacomo Fenocchio’s Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2023 is a true testament to the estate’s traditional winemaking and deep roots in Monforte d’Alba, where the Fenocchio family has been cultivating vineyards since 1894. Claudio Fenocchio, the fifth-generation winemaker, remains committed to non-interventionalist techniques, allowing the terroir to shine through every bottle.
Made from 100% Nebbiolo grown in east-facing vineyards at 300 meters altitude, this wine reflects the elegance of the Elveziano soils—rich in clay, blue marl, and tuff. Aged for six months in stainless steel and six months in large Slavonian oak casks, the result is a ruby-red wine with garnet reflections, offering aromas of plum, cherry, and hints of rose and licorice. On the palate, it is dry, harmonious, and well-structured, with balanced tannins and a long finish.
Versatile and food-friendly, this Langhe Nebbiolo captures the finesse and character of the Fenocchio family’s iconic Barolos but with a youthful, approachable charm.
92/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, July 2025 (2023 Vintage)
"Cherry, red fruits, floral, some liquorice root, lovely perfume, nuts, some spice. Medium-bodied, red fruits, even to strawberry, fine chalky grip to tannin, spicy and lightly savoury to finish. Bright. Very good drinking. Could twist my arm for 93 points."
92/100 Kerin O'Keefe, April 2025 (2023 Vintage)
"The 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo from Giacomo Fenocchio boasts plenty of personality and as well as polish, starting with its aromas of dog rose, red woodland berry, truffle and cake spice. Reflecting the nose, the full-bodied, savoury palate doles out succulent Morello cherry, cinnamon, orange zest and the slight warmth of alcohol recalling brandy. Polished tannins lend seamless support. Drink through 2027."
