A beautifully dry and light-bodied Rose from the sunny South of France. The name meaning "pearls" refers in part to the oysters that are so often enjoyed on this gorgeous Mediterranean coastline. Harmonious, delicate and refreshing, the Perles is the perfect wine for dry Rose lovers.
Wine Enthusiast named his winery Europe’s best in 2011, but Gerard Bertrand began as a rugby player for France and Narbonne. It wasn’t until the early death of his father that he returned to take the reigns of the family operation, Domaine de Villemajou in Boutenac, Corbieres. He soon identified the potential of the Languedoc-Roussillon to produce rich yet bright, modern wines suited to world market trends and from there began acquiring labels and properties across the region. Balancing an organic and increasingly biodynamic viticulture with an evangelical zeal for exporting his Mediterranean ‘Art de Vivre’, Gerard Bertrand has quickly become one of the most important champions of that which epitomises Southern French wine of today: superb quality in quantity.
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Pale pink and bright colour. Delicate aromas of redberries, elegant notes of flowers. Finish fresh and mineral. Serve at around 10°C as an aperitif, or with oysters and shellfish. It is also a great match with spicy dishes."
