Foradori, whose name is nearly synonymous with that of the Teroldego grape, began experimenting with making wine in terracotta amphora in 2008 when the purchased the very first tinaja from Spain. Today the winery has nearly 250 amphora, now sourced locally.
Sgarzon means ‘shoot’ in local dialect and is the name of Foradori’s 2.5 ha site, planted in 2003 and characterised by its cooler position and sandy soil.
This single vineyard wine is made of destemmed whole berries fermented on skins in terracotta amphora for 8 months, yielding a vibrant nose of red cherry and floral notes. On the palate it is fresh, full-bodied and layered with elegance and a long mineral finish.

"Incredibly vibrant wild-berry, wild-herb and savoury aromas pour from the glass of this dangerously expressive teroldego red that has so much energy, it’s hard to understand how it stays in the glass. The mineral acidity and fine-grained tannins are beautifully interwoven on the very long, diamond-bright finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold."

"Deep crimson. Aromatic dark-red fruit, with minor highlights of dried wild flowers, possibly lavender as it opens in the glass, and a hint of crushed stones, though this last characteristic is more evident on the Morei. Instantly captivating on the palate with a combination of energising freshness and very fine tannins, dry, pulled tight like a bowstring. So clean in the mouth and refined. A delicate peony-like scent appears on the palate but there's also a refined darkness to the flavour. Incredibly long, pure and vibrant. Becomes more floral with air. Delicious, sensitive wine."

"Closed with a red wax capsule, the organic and biodynamic Foradori 2020 Teroldego Sgarzon shows a pretty dark color and rich saturation. Aromas include dark fruit, red beets, iodine, mahogany and perfumed teak wood. The wine is very savory with iron ore and rust, showing dark consistency and a strong set of aromas."

"The 2020 Teroldego Sgarzon is remarkably pretty and finessed with crushed strawberries, roses and sweet smoke. This is silky and pliant with a cool-toned feel, complemented by lifting acidity and ripe mineral-tinged red berries. It leaves the palate watering for more, yet with a subtle tug of fine tannins and lingering sour cherry fruits. I don’t see the 2020 Sgarzon as a long-distance runner, yet it’s geared to give masses of pleasure over the medium term."
