Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Deep ruby intensity with a pronounced redcurrent, cranberry and red cherry nose. A gentle underlayer of lightly toasted cedar and a touch of vanilla typical of our Francois Frere barrels. Aromas of place, of Bendigo and of Folding Hill. The palate is balanced with red fruit, gentle acidity, light tannins, delicious mouthfeel and a very long finish. Elegance and refinement with slight floral characteristics and a gentle touch of oak."
18.5/20 Joelle Thomson (2022 Vintage)
"Folding Hill Pinot Noir has always had a place in my heart for the sheer weight of the Pinot Noirs from this warm, dry, southern site in Central Otago. This Pinot Noir is entirely estate-grown and all the better for being made from a single site, in which its ripe spicy aromas combine with red fruit scents of cherries, raspberries and crisp acidity, which brings freshness to the wine. It drinks very well now and can age further, evolving into an even more interesting wine over the next five to six years, potentially longer."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, April 2025 (2022 Vintage)
"Splendidly fruited and fragrant, the bouquet shows dark cherry, game, clove, mushroom, and toasted almond characters. The palate displays juicy fruit intensity with a supple texture and finely infused tannins, finishing long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2032."
