Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour. Ignoring fashion and braving the scorn of “wine thought police”, Elephant in the Room was created to give consumers exactly what they want – full bodied and mouth-filling wines that deliver maximum pleasure. Sourced from low yielding vineyards in Langhorne Creek and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and bottling.
Deep purple colour with aromatic notes of red berry and blackcurrants framed by violet overtones and subtle cedarwood spice. The palate is dense and plush with flavours of blood plum, chocolate, blueberry and spice with a supple, slippery mouthfeel framed by subtle oak toast and fine tannins. A generous wine, packed full of flavour that would pair perfectly with roast lamb."
91/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, October 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"It's splendidly ripe and fragrant, showing blackberry, warm spice, hazelnut and subtle cocoa notes on the nose. The palate is equally attractive with excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, finishing long and supple. At its best: now to 2027."
