The popularity of this wine seems to never wane and this recently released 2018 continues the same consistent good quality and value that made it so popular in the first place. El Burro (The Donkey) is a big and ripe wine filled with rich fruit flavours and a nice warm spicy character. A little time in American oak adds a vanilla smoothness and a toasty, spicy touch to the vibrant, dark berry and chocolate flavours. Made by the flying Scotsman of winemakers, Norell Robertson MW from old, dry grown bush vine Garnacha (Grenache) grown in the Navarra region of North East Spain.
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"It's sweetly fruited and instantly appealing on the nose showing dark plum, clove, bay leaf and toasted nut characters, leading to a gorgeously soothing palate that's filled with delicious fruit flavours. It's fleshy and supple with elegant spicy nuances, finishing long and comforting. At its best: now to 2023."

"A full-flavoured Garnacha, showing ripe plum, dark cherry, warm spice and subtle chocolate notes, backed by juicy and rounded palate that’s delightfully smooth and sweetly tasty. Great value."
