Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Pale straw colour with green hues. Gala apple, lemon curd and freshly baked bread characterise the nose. The palate possesses mineral notes, positive salinity and line of sappy fruit. — The 2023 vintage presented significant challenges [but] Chenin Blanc is a late ripening white varietal, and hence was still hard and green when the deluge hit. The fruit remained in excellent condition. Our patience was rewarded with a harvest of ripe Chenin Blanc in great condition.
Grown by Ian and Linda Quinn off their Two Terraces Vineyard located in Maraekakaho, Hawke’s Bay. The second vintage from this vineyard coincided with fantastic weather conditions.
This hand picked fruit was whole bunch pressed to yield delicious raw juice which was then fermented in our cast stone egg-shaped tanks. The long fermentation and and further maturation on the spent yeast lees results in wine where the fruit and floral characters merge with savoury brioche like notes. It’s individually delicious."

"It has aromas that are delicate but elegant. Aromatic and peppery, with a slight herbal astringency that cuts through the plush stonefruit and citrus flavours. Savoury green olive, fennel and nettle also emerge on a second sip. Some lovely phenolic bite too."
