Here's a great offer on a very smart Central Otago Pinot Noir. Driven Snow is the brainchild of local wine distributor Jorn Dijkstra of Powerhouse wines. He has managed to source an exceptional parcel of fruit from the renown Mondillo Vineyards in Bendigo, Central Otago and had it crafted by talented winemaker, Matt Connell. A winning combination.
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"This Pinot Noir was produced in the Central Otago sub region of Bendigo. The Bendigo region extends along the banks of the Clutha River before it feeds into the northeast end of Lake Dunstan, then along the south-eastern bank of the lake to the northern slopes of Mt Dunstan.
This finely crafted Pinot Noir has a medium ruby colour on sight. The wine greets you with aromas of red cherry, plums, strawberry and shitake mushrooms. A fine oak layer with flavours of sweet spices, cloves and savoury notes. On the palate it is crisp, tense and dry with flavours that reflect the plum, cherry and strawberry of the bouquet. The fine tannins with medium well-balanced acidity contribute to a long and satisfying finish."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, June 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"It's gorgeously fruited and inviting on the nose with dark plum, sweet cherry, olive, floral, and toasted almond notes. The palate delivers juicy fruit flavours with fleshy texture and beautifully infused tannins, making it structured and harmonious with a persistent, refined finish. At its best: now to 2032."
