This top-selling Loosen Bros. wine is Ernst Loosen’s "ambassador" for the Mosel region and for the Riesling variety. It embodies the delicate and racy style that is characteristic of Riesling grown in the slate-soil vineyards of the Mosel valley. And, best of all, it delivers this uniquely delicious and invigorating taste at a very affordable price for every day enjoyment.

Made in a beautiful style, Dr L Riesling is only 8.5% alcohol and has a fragrant nose of honey, apricot and stone fruit which carries through to the off dry palate. Refreshingly juicy, a touch of spritz and lively acidity add finesse and balance.

The Loosen family has been growing Riesling and producing wine in the Mosel valley for over 200 years. Current owner, Ernst “Erni” Loosen, assumed ownership in 1988, embarking on a quest to greatly improve the quality and international reputation of the estate, the Mosel region, and Riesling in general. Today, Erni is one of the most iconic and influential winemakers in the world.

91/100 Kasia Sobiesiak, The Wine Front, February 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Starts ripe with nectarines, honey and sweet seductive perfume, Golden Delicious apples. It’s beautifully expressive, lemon balm, waxy skins and lemon curd, golden kiwi. Smooth flavours, more savoury and lemony than the nose. They slip through the palate and linger in the back with a bit of a salty quality and more of that yellow fruit weight. White pepper spice chimes in at the end. Pretty good entry-level stuff and off-dry too."
