Jean-Loup Michel and his nephew Guillaume Gicqueau-Michel are passionate supporters of stainless steel for production of pure, clean and precise Chablis. Situated right in the heart of the village of Chablis, the family has been making wine since 1850.
The 25 ha vineyard spreads over the very first slopes that were discovered by Cistercian monks in the 11th century, so there’s no lack of tradition. The domaine has developed a worldwide reputation for fine wine-making in stainless steel vats.
This Chablis reveals white fruit notes such as peach, and has a persistent mineral structure. In the mouth, a stony sensation which is so typical of Chablis makes this a round and pure wine.
Decanter (2022 Vintage)
"This is a very fine, precise Chablis showing good density, crystalline citrus notes on the palate, a lick of minerality to finish. The Louis Michel philosophy of aiming to express all the terroir influence is very well shown here."
Jasper Morris MW (2022 Vintage)
"Pale lemon yellow. A clear crisp very typical Chablis nose, though perhaps more on fruit than minerals. Lively on the palate with medium plus length, a touch of fresh citrus but not high in acidity. Give it one year in bottle."

91/100 Burghound.com (2020 Vintage)
"There is more obvious Chablis typicity to the fresh aromas of green fruit, apple and lemon rind scents. Here too the mouthfeel of the medium weight flavours is both plump but vibrant while displaying good persistence on the moderately dry and more complex finale."
90/100 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2020 Vintage)
"Bottled under Diam, the 2020 Chablis Village exhibits aromas of white flowers, peach, freshly baked bread and clear honey. Medium to full-bodied, ample and charming, it's a fleshy, lively wine that concludes with a saline finish."
