The Quiot family, winemakers since 1748, offer a large range of wines from the Rhone Valley and the Provence area. As a family, Genevieve, Florence, Jerome and Jean-Baptiste Quiot run Domaine du Vieux Lazaret.
Located in the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and close to other properties owned by the Quiot family, these original buildings have today been extended and modernised, and now form the winemaking centre for Famille Quiot.
The vineyards of Domaine du Vieux Lazaret are spread over 93 hectares, split into 35 different parcels of vines throughout A.O.C. Chateauneuf-du-Pape. It is today amongst the largest domaines in Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Pale plus dark red with clear purple rim. The nose is warm and beginning to show an attractive complexity characterised by understated red fruits and spice along with leather and tertiary notes. The palate is composed and lighter weight, again exhibiting a measure of bottle development in an appealing mix of red cherry and spice notes. There is a fine, balanced structure. This is an elegant, not heavyweight style expressing Grenache and Syrah in particular, with the emphasis on finesse rather than power."

"Candied cherries, sweet cranberries and a touch of stewed herbs. Lightly chewy in terms of tannins, with a fluid centre palate and a medium-length finish. A bit overripe, but approachable. A good, simple Chateauneuf that shows early appeal."
