A beautiful village wine from this master of Chardonnay in the Macon. Saint Veran is close behind Pouilly-Fuisse as the top village of this increasing important southern Burgundy region. Here, the same limestone-rich hillsides that lie in Burgundy's famous Cote de Beaune are surrounded by even more warmth and sunshine. Plump and juicy but packed with mineral tension, this gently-oaked Chardonnay is an extremely expressive and satisfying wine for the price.
16.5/20 Julia Harding MW, Jancis Robinson.com (2020 Vintage)
"Certified organic. Sour-citrus aroma with a touch of quince, and a light note of minerally stone dust. Finest chalky grip on the palate and slightly salty. That texture really adds to the length. Very good value."
