Deliverance Chardonnay has quite a following as it delivers all those big, bold and ripe flavours many chardonnay lovers are always looking for. You could say it is North Canterbury's answer to that ever popular Californian style but being local surely gives it the upper hand.
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"North Canterbury produces some of New Zealand's most flavoursome wine-grapes. Grown on ancient river bed gravels in the Waipara Valley, this Chardonnay is rich with tropical and stone-fruits, subtle oak influence and hints of baking spices. Old vines yielded the grapes for this wine and as a result you will experience immerse flavour concentration, length and persistence. Aged for 7 months in French oak barrels before blending. Estate bottled without fining."

4 Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"This good value wine is from Muddy Water (owned by Greystone). The 2019 vintage is delicious young. Bright, light lemon/green, it is a fragrant, full-bodied wine, with fresh acidity and generous, vibrant, peachy, slightly toasty and buttery flavours, showing considerable complexity. Drink now or cellar."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2019 (2018 Vintage)
"It is beautifully fruited and inviting on the nose showing golden peach, fig, vanillin oak and subtle spice aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate that is rounded and flavoursome. The wine offers excellent fruit intensity together with creamy mouthfeel, finishing long and delectable. At its best: now to 2022."
