98/100 Luca Maroni – Leading Italian Wine Critic
Crafted from hand-harvested old bush vine Primitivo and Negroamaro, this luxurious red is made using the ancient Appassimento method, leaving grapes to dry on the vine for 25 extra days to intensify flavour, richness, and depth.
Rated 98/100 by Luca Maroni, it bursts with layers of ripe black fruits, subtle spice, vanilla, and hints of raisins, liquorice, and dark chocolate. Aged in traditional cement fermenters for a silky, fruit driven texture, this full-bodied red is smooth, complex, and dangerously drinkable.
Importer's notes (2021 Vintage)
"With the same spirit of Niccolò De’ Conti, famous Venetian explorer; the bouquet reels of sunbaked black fruits, figs, prunes, blackberries, blueberries with a perfumed lift of wild raspberries, violets and a backbone of sandalwood and spice. Those same concentrated black/red and dried fruit aromas on the nose, resonate throughout the palate with hints of red/ black liquorice and dark chocolate adding excitement… making it even more irresistible. The richness is balanced by the tannic core running the length of the palate."
