Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"The Peumo Vineyard is located 170 m a.s.l. and extends over terraces and hills of the Coastal Range along the Cachapoal River. The vines come from pre-phylloxera vine stock and are trellised to vertical shoot position. The soils are deep and have a top layer of clay that retains moisture, which helps control plant vigor and growth, and more importantly, allows the vines to remain active until late May, when Carmenere is harvested.
Dark and deep red. It has a classic Peumo Carmenere profile of intense dark plums, black currants, and dark chocolate. It is modern in tannins which are soft and finely ground. The wine shows firm tannic structure, with a crisp bite of acidity.
The Marques de Casa Concha is a classical style which expresses the character, nobility and concentration of the grapes which have had a long history in Chile. Prize-winners year by year, it has been ranked three times in the prestigious ranking of the Top 100 Wines of the Year, by Wine Spectator."

91/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, April 2022 (2020 Vintage)
"Offering perfumed notes of blackcurrant, clove, almond and bay leaf, it's fruit expressive and weighty on the palate delivering ripe fruit intensity backed by fine grainy tannins. Solid and flavoursome with a lengthy sturdy finish, making it a wonderful partner to rich meat dishes. At its best: now to 2028."
