Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"The vibrant blueberry and floral notes of Te Awanga Syrah are combined here with the power and structure of SH50 Syrah to produce an eminently drinkable synergy."

91/100 David Walker Bell, WineFolio.co.nz, July 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"From Te Awanga in Hawke’s Bay – the winner of a Double Gold at the NZIWS last year. A deep burgundy-purple in the glass. Bursting with fragrance – some reductive, smoky funk as well as masses of spice, juicy plum, liquorice and blackberry. Youthful and vibrant on the palate, with toasty oak, black pepper and dark fruit all jostling for attention. Tannin is fine and supple, balanced with a zesty acidity and an underlying minerality. Lovely drinking now, and no need to cellar to enjoy this rounded, plush Syrah."
4 Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"The very charming 2019 vintage was grown at Te Awanga and sites further inland (simply described as State Highway 50.) Full-coloured, with a fresh, fragrant, spicy bouquet, it is mouthfilling, vibrant and supple, with ripe blackcurrant, plum and black pepper flavours, a touch of complexity and a well-rounded, very harmonious finish. Delicious young."
