Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"A wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from the incredible 2024 vintage. Masses of potential for cellaring whilst also presenting beautiful tannins that make the wine accessible now.
Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Cornerstone Vineyard. Hand plunged during fermentation with 50 days on skins and then pressed to five fine, French oak barrels for 12 months. Immense regal purple colour. Aromas of wild berries, plum, bramble and cedar and an intense palate of brooding dark fruit with power and seductive, ripe tannins."
5 Stars & 96/100 Jane Skilton MW, The Real Review, April 2026 (2024 Vintage)
"Immense regal purple colour. The aromas are powerful and intense yet there’s a lovely purity and freshness, with no sign of over-ripeness. Dark cherry, blackcurrant and plum aromas weave through cedar and nutmeg oak and there’s even a touch of black liquorice. Firm, impactful tannins coat the palate but these are beautifully judged and act as a lovely counterpoint to the fruit. A little dried sage and thyme too. Long and sustained, this has masses of potential and demands time in the cellar."
95+/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, February 2026 (2024 Vintage)
"Blackcurrant, blackberry, tobacco, violet, pencil, a subtle roast red capsicum and aniseed top note. Medium-bodied, perfumed and black fruited mainly, some red, tight graphite tannin sits deep inside the wine, acidity is fresh but balanced, and it finishes very long. Textbook Cabernet. Outstanding."
4 Stars Cuisine NZ & International Bordeaux Tasting, April 2026 (2024 Vintage)
"Lifted currants on the nose and met by spice, toast and toffee aromas with just a hint of green herbals which also come though on the palate. Medium weighted with juicy, firm tannins alongside lots of sweet fruit and caramel oak. Finishes well. "
