Château de La Negly is situated on the prime chalky terroir of La Clape in the Languedoc, in sight of the Mediterrnean, whose cooling breezes moderate the maturation. Aromas of blackberry and cassis with hints of fruit skin on the palate.

"Château de la Négly may be the Languedoc-Roussillon's finest estate. The brilliant oenologist Claude Gros oversees the winemaking, and everything is done with incredible attention to detail, aiming for world class wines of great individuality and quality."

"Impressive blackberry and raspberry fruits as well as peppery garrigue and assorted meaty, almost bloody notes emerge from the 2019 La Clape La Falaise. A rich, medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced and elegant red, it should drink nicely right out of the gate yet also evolve for 7-8 years, if not a decade."
17.5/20 Tamlyn Currin, JancisRobinson.com (2019 Vintage)
"Damsons steeping in rooibos tea, rose-hip jelly, smoky bacon. So many layers in this powerful wine with its tannins of rippling thoroughbred muscle and deep-throated dark fruit. There’s a deep salty intensity that tastes of jamón ibérico, a sweetness that tastes of dried cranberries, a cumin-seed and peppercorn spiciness, garrigue wildness. Superb."
91/100 Wine Spectator (2019 Vintage)
"Complex, harmonious and fresh. This sleek and focused red shows a pure beam of wild currant and brambly fruit flanked with garrigue, Earl Grey tea, anise and graphite notes all bound by svelte tannins. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan. Drink now through 2029"

92/100 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2018 Vintage)
"Aged in a combination of foudres and 300-liter barrels, the 2018 La Clape la Falaise reveals hints of cracked pepper, mixed berries and licorice on the nose. It's full-bodied and expansive in the mouth, rich and mouthfilling without being heavy or overdone, buttressed by silky tannins and ample depth of fruit. It's a lovely effort that should drink well for 4-5 years."
