Caruso & Minini is a winery located in Marsala, the most western coastal city of Sicilia, where Marsala wines are produced.
Native to Sicily, Nero d’Avola, which translates to "Black of Avola," produces wines with a dark, robust character. The mix of Sicily’s arid, Mediterranean heat and its large diurnal swings is conducive to creating ripe wines with retained acidity. Nero d’Avola is Sicily’s most planted red grape.
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Caruso & Minini's "Nebacco" is a wine that needs no introduction. Identity and authentic expression of soils suited to Nero d'Avola, an autochthonous vine of great value, prince of the Sicilian winemaking tradition. Dedication and care in its production, starting with the selection of the grapes, harvested by hand in September. It continues with maceration, fermentation of the destemmed, followed by majolactic fermentation; The product obtained is partly aged in 225-liter barriques for 4 months, the rest for 8 months in steel tanks. A great red, elegant and harmonious, capable of satisfying the most demanding palates.
Elegant and fruity aromatic bouquet, with sparkling hints of orange peel and oriental spices. On the palate it is soft and enveloping, with pleasant tannins, spicy notes, and a long, persistent finish."

"The scarlet, fruity nose has notes of cherries, strawberries, raspberries and pomegranates, while a puff of brick dust provides depth. That blaze of fruit grows sweeter and more syrupy on the palate, but a kick of spice works with dusty tannins and bright acid to maintain balance."
