Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"Lifted Jasmine and fresh pear leap from the glass. Earthy honeyed tones lie below the florals, intermingled with freshly crushed vanilla pod. Honeyed and rich on the palate, in contrast with the apparent dryness of the wine. The hint of phenolic edge drives the palate length. A pure example of an ubiquitously enjoyed wine."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"Delightfully fruited and immediately appealing with ripe peach, Nashi pear, rich floral, subtle vanilla and lemon zest aromas, it's succulent and elegantly flavoursome in the mouth delivering splendid fruit purity and refreshing acidity, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2024."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, June 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"Plush, ripe, fresh and delicious with aromas and flavours of sweet bosc pear and yellow apple, some aged quince flesh and citrus highlights. A silky texture touches the palate first then flavours of ripe fruits and a touch of white spice and flowers. Balanced and well made, salivating, fresh and ready with best drinking from 2022 through 2025."
Rated Excellent, 5 Stars & 93/100 NZ Wine Rater, June 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"Complex, wine-making influenced nose with aromas of yellow plum, vanilla pod, blanched almond, peppercorns and cinnamon. A ripe style with an oily viscosity, noticeable toasty, vanilla characters – tasty, savoury and food-friendly."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2021 Vintage)
"Well worth cellaring, the 2021 vintage was sourced from local growers, hand-harvested and fermented in old French oak barriques. Pale lemon/green, it is an attractively scented, medium to full-bodied wine, with ripe stonefruit and spice flavours, showing considerable complexity, very good delicacy and richness, and a dryish (5 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish. Best drinking 2023+."
4 Stars & 18/20 (90) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, June 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"Bright, even, pale yellow-green. The nose is fresh and softly full, aromas of pear drops and grapefruit melded with blossom. Dry-ish to taste, medium-bodied, bright aromas of pear drops, grapefruit intertwined floral and a hint of ginger dusting. The fruit is juicy and forwards with good concentration, supported by balanced acidity and a touch of sweetness fleshing out the palate. Subtle phenolic texture added substance. This is an easy-drinking Pinot Gris with upfront fruit, floral and spice elements on a textural palate. Match with pork dumplings and fish skewers over the next 2-3 years. Handpicked, fermented cool in matured oak to 12.5% alc, 5 g/l RS. Vegan friendly."
