This wee Italian number has picked up a few fans here amongst the staff since it arrived. It's a delightfully refreshing white wine from the hillside Tuscan town of San Gimignano which is well known for the medieval streetscapes and towers that dominate its skyline. The wine dry and crisp with a lovely salty tang through the finish.
"Made from the Vernaccia grape, produced in and around the Italian town of San Gimignano in Tuscany. Since the Renaissance, it has been considered one of Italy's finest white wines. It was the first Italian wine to be awarded Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) status in 1966. This is a dry white wine with yellow apple, green pear, lemon, almond flavours with a light saline character."

"A nose of almond skin, freshly sliced green and yellow apples and a squeeze of lemon sets the stage for a lively, citrusy, salty palate that's ultra refreshing and crowd-pleasing."

"Geografico works with 30 local growers, overseen by enologist Riccardo Cotarella. Borgo alla Terra is focused and energised, full of bright lemon, apple and herb aromas and flavours. Saline and pithy with plenty of acidity, this is so wonderfully fresh and streamlined."
