Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Head-trained, dry farmed Zinfandel vines planted by early California pioneers have endured for generations, unwavering through a myriad of challenges and the test of time. Producing small, concentrated clusters of grapes, these vines demonstrate the reward for patience and determination. It is these noble vines that Bogle winemakers rely on to create our intriguing Old Vine Zinfandel.
Classic Zinfandel is typically characterised by spice, and this wine is no exception. On the nose juniper, black pepper and spicy nutmeg awaken the senses. Flavours of cranberries and raspberries tantalize the palate, leading to notes of red fruits, marionberry pie and baking spices. This Old Vine Zinfandel has a bold, yet elegant mouthfeel and a long, refined finish."
90/100 Wine Enthusiast (220 Vintage)
"This California Zin does not disappoint. An elevated acidity gives the wine energy, uplifting the fresh fruit notes of blackberry, black cherry and boysenberry. Well-integrated oak means a subtle dusting of nutmeg, star anise and clove. Tannins are a resolved, chalky texture, adding structural integrity and never distracting."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, February 2020 (2017 Vintage)
"It’s sweetly fruited and inviting on the nose showing blackberry, plum jam, thyme, vanilla bean and cedar characters. The palate delivers succulent fruit intensity and rounded mouthfeel, wonderfully complemented by velvety texture and supple tannins. Gorgeously flavoursome and smooth. At its best: now to 2023."
