A sixth generation Barossa winemaker, Trent Burge grew up in and on Barossa soil. Riding trail bikes around the vineyards, playing local cricket and footy, he had dirt under his nails and Barossa blood in his veins. Trent’s objective is to continue what generations before have created, showcasing the Barossa’s most loved varietals and telling untold stories of a life lived in this extraordinary region. Six generations in the making.

Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Trent Burge grew up a keen cricketer and footballer, revelling in the camaraderie and competition of local teams. He followed his passion to England, spending several years playing seasons of cricket and returning home to work Barossa vintage. Double Trouble blends two outstanding regional varieties in tribute to the boy’s time in this ‘double life’ of one endless summer.

Shiraz Cabernet is the classic Australian wine duo, boldly generous yet approachable. To bring out the best from the Barossa region, we combine valley-floor Shiraz with cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon, from a family-owned vineyard in neighbouring Eden Valley. Barossa Boy Double Trouble salutes teammates, on the field and in the vineyard. Created for sharing."

Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, January 2023 (2020 Vintage)
"Aromas of ripe dark red berries, black berry and raspberry, there’s a particular clay or baked clay earthy quality then toasty wood qualities. Flavours on the palate reflect the bouquet with dark berries and clove, black currant, toasty wood and clay, vanilla and sweet olive. A whisper of spice adds additional complexity. Dry, perfectly weighted, balanced and ready to drink. A wine that will also cellar quite well. Harmonious, evenly textured with moderate tannins, medium+ acid line and lengthy finish. best drinking from late 2023 through 2029."
