Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Herbal notes with a limey perfume. Mineral and some tropical elements. Soft on entry with lime, orange and lemon with spice. Good mid palate weight and nice acid drive. Citrus blossom lingers on finish. Lively."
Joelle Thomson, drinksbiz Magazine, October/November 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"Beautiful freshness defines Albariño and this one is made by one of the oldest wineries in the country, Babich Wines. It uses grapes grown on the family’s certified organic Headwaters Vineyard in Marlborough. Fermentation in stainless steel retains aromatic purity, fruit-forward flavours of lemon and a salty tang that is the hallmark of this Spanish grape. Body, succulence and dryness are all drawcards in this lovely wine."

"Ripe and fruity, varietal with a bouquet of yellow peach and sweet citrus, floral, fresh and inviting. A whisper of sea air and raw wet stones add charm and complexity. On the palate – tense, youthful, ripe and fruity. Textures of coarse silk and satin are contrasted by an abundance of acidity. The wines transitions from peach to citrus with a traditional back palate firmness adding length. Balanced, fresh and well made, a lovely example. Vegan friendly too – how cool is that!"
