Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Notes of Granny Smith apple, white flower, grapefruit & icing sugar. Dry, textural & mouth fi ling with juicy mouthwatering acidity.
The grapes were lightly foot stomped once picked and left overnight to soak. Whole bunch pressed the next day to Tinaja / Amphora. Indigenous yeasts are the natural vineyard starter (pied de cuve) and are then added to the grape must as fermentation in the winery begins.
Vineyard: The exceptional Two Terraces vineyard (Mangatahi Terraces region). Ian and Linda Quinn are conscientious and detail-oriented growers who produce outstanding quality grapes. Their exceptional Two Terraces Vineyard is in the Mangatahi Terraces of Hawke's Bay. With distinct diurnal swings, the vineyard has ideal conditions for maintaining higher levels of acidity and aromatics. Biodynamic preparations are added to the soil and canopy during the growing season. Only 2 ha of Chenin Blanc planted.
The label is an interpretive drawing of the fruit notes that came up during fermentation and maturation: mango, peach, guava & granny smith apple. Drawn by local artist Rebecca Norman of Panoply studios."
