What New Zealand gewürztraminer lacks in its tiny production volume, it more than makes up for in its defining characteristic: a striking fragrance accompanying a typically dry to off-dry style. Notable gewürztraminer hotspots can be found on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island in Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne and at the top of the South Island in Nelson and Marlborough. When tasting, watch for notes of rose petals, cinnamon and ginger, and lychee, along with citrus sweetness and ripened stonefruit characteristics. Gewürztraminer is a wonderful aromatic pairing for a range of cuisines – match it with full-flavoured hard cheese, pork, poultry, shrimp and crab meat.

Excellent wine store! Probably the best in town. You can find wall kinds of wine and from around the world. I even found a wine from my hometown Uruguay which is not easy to find at all on this side of the globe.
