Clearview are well known for producing big and powerful Chardonnay and the latest release of their Beachhead is that and more. "Barrel fermented, full bodied chardonnay showing cashew nut aromatics supported by a creamy stone - fruit and peach flavour profile.

All the grapes were hand picked from our Estate vineyards, and whole bunch pressed. After settling, the clear juice was racked into seasoned and new French oak barrels where fermentation took place with regular stirring of the lees during the 8 month maturation in the same barrels. A large portion of the wine has undergone Malolactic fermentation for added texture and complexity. After maturation the wine was carefully racked and bottled in mid January 2018."

"Bright, full, even, light golden-yellow colour. The nose is fresh and aromatic with ripe yellow stonefruits, citrus fruit and tropical fruit notes harmoniously entwined with a layer of creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak, along with subtle nuances of complexing flintiness. This shows lovely balance. Medium-full bodied, the palate is rich with mouthfilling flavours of ripe tropical fruit and yellow stonefruits melded with creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak, unfolding a little toast and flint and butterscotch MLF elements. The palate is luscious with a rounded heart and integrated acidity, the flavours revealing more detail and interest as the wine flows a fine-textured line. The wine carries to a long, lingering finish of citrus fruit, nuts and oak toast. This is a harmonious and balanced, mouthfilling Chardonnay with rich, ripe stonefruit and tropical fruits with creamy, nutty oak and complex, layered detailing. Match with roasted and grilled poultry, pork and veal over the next 4-5 years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP, and fully barrel-fermented to 13.2% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 1 y.o. and 2 y.o. French oak with batonnage and 100% MLF."
