Duncan and Peter Lloyd are the latest generation of Lloyds (of Coriole fame) to make wine in McLaren Vale. They use their exciting Dune project to look at their McLaren Vale home in a different light, and this wine is a look at the region's most famous variety – Shiraz – in a totally different light.
Co-fermented with a small portion of Fiano for added freshness, and made with a large proportion of whole berries for loads of perfume, this is a lighter, prettier style of McLaren Vale Shiraz than we are all accustomed to. It's a beautiful, moreish red, and sensational value for money.
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"This little beauty shows the lighter side of McLaren Vale shiraz. Fruit from our East Block are thinned to 3 tonne/acre- this is fermented with a high proportion of whole berries. We also blend in a shiraz/fiano co-ferment component to bring some aromatic lift and freshness to the palate."
