Believe it or not, the team at McArthur Ridge have just uncovered another pallet of this absolute gem. We honestly thought it was long gone.

If the name McArthur Gully sounds unfamiliar, there’s a very good reason. This is effectively the twin of the 2022 Southern Tor Pinot Noir, the wine that stunned the wine world by being crowned Best in Show Pinot Noir at the Decanter World Wine Awards, making it, for all intents and purposes, the World’s Best Pinot Noir.

So, what’s the difference? A tiny portion of the Southern Tor blend was aged in experimental barrels, meaning it couldn’t legally wear the Southern Tor label. Enter McArthur Gully. Same exceptional vintage, same brilliant winemaking, same Brassknocker soils, just a slightly different barrel treatment.

And gosh it's good. Black cherry, smoky oak and savoury, gamey complexity, with the depth and polish you’d expect from a wine that shares the DNA of a world champion.

Only around 15 barrels were produced, and with the original Southern Tor selling out within days of its Decanter triumph, this really could be the last chance to get your hands on a bottle.
