Vitality, beauty, complexity… all words to describe this biodynamically grown, naturally made Gamay from one of the most beautiful vineyards on Earth.
Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Here it is: lovingly grown, wild fermented, barrel matured. No nutrients, no filtering or fining of any kind, the barest whisper of sulphur, a full skin, carbonic maceration Gamay Noir. It’s completely alive and quite beautiful. As much as we note that schist’s compression and foliated structure can issue wines of precision and detail, here schist’s refractive, luminous nature shines a direct, unadulterated light onto Gamay’s own primary fruit and spice."

96/100 Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, November 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"Chipper, energetic red. Sour cherry, cranberry through to its dry, chalky conclusion, rose water, sage and bay leaf herbal notes, a bit of truffle and seaweed here too. Level and even in the palate, very detailed, fine tannin shimmies through the wine, pinpoint in its feel, tense and long with earthiness the character to finish. the quality of tannin is the x-factor. Nick Mills and family spent significant time in Beaujolais a few years ago, and perhaps it shows. This feels distinct, very serious, beautiful to drink. A high bar."
