Winery notes (2017 Vintage)
"Showcasing black and red berry fruits, with a hint of French Oak, dark chocolate and exotic thyme and dried herbs. Juicy, full-bodied and rich, with striking energy and power, whilst retaining silky smooth tannins. Long and lavish in the mouth with a savoury note into the finish.
Our flagship Pinot Noir – Sourced from our ‘Home Vineyard’ on a steep, elevated terrace in the Bendigo sub-region. Here, altitude, climate, fascinating soils and meticulous viticulture combine to produce Pinot Noir with stature and concentration. Pinot Noir is the largest part of our production and a complete no-compromise obsession.
The foundation of this wine is our focus on delivering low-yielding concentrated fruit that expresses our vineyard. In the winery, we employ traditional old world techniques; the grapes are handled gently and the wines are fermented using only the indigenous yeast from the vineyard. The wines are aged in barrel for 15-18 months before being bottled unfiltered, and are cellared before release."
96/100 Cameron Douglas MS, March 2020 (2017 Vintage)
"Really lovely bouquet with layers of fruit and oak, a nervous youthful texture with firm tannins and acidity to match. The fruit ripeness punches through the new oak layers and texture-laden tannins with a fleshy, generous and red berry surge. Complexity builds as the wine opens up in glass, layers of fruit and spice begin to emerge after a few minutes. A wine still relaxing and developing. Drinkable now, but best from 2021 through 2028."
